Custom Workshops
Information literacy is the set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze, and effectivly use information. Information literacy instruction is a main focus for the library, and faculty are a critical part of this key library mission.
HGTC librarians are available to speak to your class about research strategies for a particular assignment. We can also collaborate wtih faculty to develop research components for assignments.
You can schedule a time to bring your class to the library's smart classroom for a workshop either online, by phone, or in person. The more information you can give us, the better. Please give us at least one week's notice to ensure that we will be able to accomodate your class.
As part of the library workshop we can create an online course guide with a unique, course-specific URL. Designed specially for your class, the guide can provide links to appropriate resources, assistance with source citations, advice on choosing a research topic, or anything else you might want.
See examples of some of last semester's course guides below.
How'd We Do?
If a librarian previously spoke to one of your classes, please let us know what you thought of the library workshop and the online course guide. Without your feedback, how will we improve?!
